The mtDNA of Aristichthys has been isolated and purified for restriction enzyme analysis. Its length is 16.44 kb,and its molecular weight is 10.17×108 dation. The mtDNA has been analyzed by 11 kinds of restriction endonucleases which all recognized 6 basepairs. The restriction mapof the total 22 cut Sites have been constructed according to the data of molecular weight of generated fragmentS by complete digestion with single and double enzymes,sometimes also with partial digestionof single enzyme.
