Cobalt tetrasulfonate phthalocyanine(CoTSPc) was covalently bonded to the silica surface of mesoporous MCM-41 molecular sieve. The resulting anchored complex was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) and IR spectroscopy
and used as catalyst for the oxidation of mercapto ethanol. The catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity in reaction conditions like that of peroxidase
and the catalytic constant K
m
of peroxidase-like characterization for CoTSPc/MCM-41 complex was obtained as 0.015 mol/L.The catalyst can be easily separated from the reaction system after reaction. The reutilization of phthalocyanine catalyst was solved and environmental pollution was avoided. The catalyst shows a good prospect in industrial application and environmental protection.
