Aiming at the two problems in the traditional design of LPDA: the lognitudinal length is too long and secondary radiating regions obviously destroy the broadband characteristics when the frequency band exceed 10∶1.Increase the angle of LPDA to reduce the lognitudinal length
meanwhile find the best characters of antenna configuration to optimize LPDA’s characteristics.According to a project’s requirements design a large angle LPDA for 1.5-30 MHz.Computer simulations reveal that among the 20∶1 ultra-wide frequency range VSWR is small
antenna pattern doesn’t split and the lognitudinal length is less than half of the traditional small angle LPDA.
