To reduce the cost of testing graphical user interfaces(GUI) software
a strategy of selecting the critical testing paths based on windows navigation networks(WNN) is proposed.Windows and inputs in GUI are defined into the different granularities and WNN is modeled on the granularity.The vertex and arc in the model represent the window and transition between windows respectively.The probability of the transition is described by a real in the interval 0
1].By the method GUI software can be modeled from the viewpoint of users and there is no problem of state explosion.The case study shows that it is effective to obtain the critical testing paths by the WNN model.
