The resonance light scattering(RLS) spectra of the Ru(bpy)2PIP(Ⅳ)2+-DNA was studied.Based on the enhancement effect of resonance light scattering signals of Ru(bpy)2PIP(Ⅳ)2+ by DNA
a novel resonance light scattering method of Ru(bpy)2PIP(Ⅳ)2+ for the determination of DNA was developed.Under the optimal conditions
the enhanced intensity of RLS at 358 nm is proportional to the concentration of DNA in the range 0.016-4.0 mg/L.The detection limit is 10.5 μg/L.Plasmid DNA extracted from the bacillus subtilis was determined by the method with satisfactory results.
