A series of chitosan(CTS) hydrogels crosslinked by organic titanium(OT) were prepared. The rheological property of the gels was studied. The effects of the concentration and feed ratio on the shear storage modulus(G′)
the loss modulus(G″) and critical gelation points were also investigated. And the sol-gel transition points were exactly determined by the Winter-Chambon criterion. The results show that the gelling process is a delay cross-linking process. The sol-gel transition points appears at 1 751 s when the CTS/OT concentration are 17.5 g·L-1 and 0.5% respectively at 25 ℃.Increasing the concentration of the reactant will accelerate the gelation process and shorten the sol-gel time. The elasticity of the gel network will be enhanced as well.
