Abstract
Based on the analysis of distribution of electromagnetic force in the channel of channel induction furnace
a formula for estimation of outlet flow velocity was given in this paper.The estimation of outlet flow velocity was 0.562 m/s and the cycle of molten metal Zn was 156.5 t/h in a 400 kW inductor.The temperature difference of molten metal Zn between inlet and outlet in the 400 kW inductor was about 20 ℃.The estimation of outlet flow velocity seemed reasonable compared with the reported data.The estimates showed reasonable correlation with experimental results in a trial for a 400 kW inductor.
