The Vertically aligned ZnO nanorod arrays have been synthesized using aqueous solution growth method on ZnO buffer layers.Furthermore
by using an effective thioglycolic acid-assisted solution route
the well-aligned ZnO/ZnS core-shell nanorod arrays have been successfully synthesized. The structures
morphologies and optical properties of both ZnO and ZnO/ZnS core-shell nanorod arrays were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD)
field emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM)
transmission electron microscope(TEM) and photoluminescence spectrum(PL) at room temperature. The PL spectrum indicates that the synthesized ZnO/ZnS core-shell nanorod arrays have much stronger near-band emission as compared with the ZnO nanorod arrays
and the near-band emission peak slightly shifts to higher energy.
