A novel kind of photodegradable polyvinyl chloride-oxalic acid-TiO2(PVC-OA-TiO2) nanocomposite film was prepared by blending the nano-TiO2 particles into the commercial PVC.Oxalic acid
as a good election donor
can suppress the recombination of electrons and holes on the TiO2 surface
so it enhances the photocatalytic efficiency of nano-TiO2.The weight loss of PVC-OA-TiO2 composite film reached 55% after 310 h UV-light irradiation
which was twice of PVC-TiO2 film or 3.5 times of pure PVC film. The results indicate that PVC-OA-TiO2 composite film has better photocatalytic degradation efficiency than PVC-TiO2 composite film and pure PVC film.
