On the base of fractal geometry theory and the self-similarity of well logs
this paper adopted a new method
box-counting dimension method with normalized time scale and amplitude scale
to calculate fractal dimension of well logs.Using this method
the fractal dimension of well logs in Daqing Xujiawei had been calculated
and the relationship between fractal dimension and anti-drilling properties had been confirmed by regressive analysis. The result shows that well logs have the scale-invariant property and the coefficient of correlativity between the normalized scale box-counting dimension and anti-drilling properties is more than 0.9.The normalized scale box-counting dimension can reflect the complexity and irregular degree of volcanic rock formation.
