Based on the He-HF interaction potential developed in our previous research
the elastic and inelastic partial cross sections(PCSs) for collisions between 3He(4He
6He
8He
10He) atoms and HF molecules are calculated by using the close-coupling approach to solve the scattering equation. The calculations are performed at the incident energy of 86 meV.The influences of the isotope helium atoms on the PCSs are discussed in detail. The results show that the excitation PCSs converge faster than the elastic PCSs for the given collision energy and system. The excitation PCSs converge more rapidly for the higher excited states. The tail effect is present only in elastic scattering and lower excited states but not in higher excited states. With the increase of the reduced mass of the system
the converging speed of the elastic and state-to-state excitation PCSs slows down
