Using AFLP(amplified fragment length polymorphism) molecular markers
we studied the genetic relationship of 37 cultivated Iris materials.Four pairs of primers were used and a total of 205 bands were produced
of which 177 bands were polymorphic.The percentage of polymorphic bands was 86.3%;the genetic similarity among all materials was ranged from 0.23 to 0.97
with an average of 0.81.Overall
the analyses of genetic similarity indicated that there was less differentiation among the studied materials except for I.ruthenica f.leucantha was greatly different from the others.In this study
the UPGMA(unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic means) method was also used to analyze the genetic relationship among the collections.
