We consider the decay estimation of the solution of the Cauchy problem for the linear viscous shallow water equations.Through explicit analysis of the Green function

we get pointwise estimation of the solution.The result displays that the solution decays much more faster outside the characteristic cone

but slower inside the cone.The decay rate of the solution is the same as the heat kernel

so our estimate is optimal.
