In order to compensate for the lack of hands-on practice at school

creating opportunities for students to carry out hands-on practice

the Experimental Center of Guangzhou University has conducted exploration on experimental teaching and the cultivation of creative talents.It opens innovation classes on research and competition

which provides intensive training for students to acquire the initial literacy as engineers

to improve their competitiveness in job seeking.As a result

the quality of employment has been greatly improved.This paper introduces in details the specific steps to strengthen practical teaching and to cultivate innovative talents through the innovation classes on research and competition.
